MetaZoo Marketplace Promo Packs Have Arrived!

A few weeks back, MetaZoo announced that they would be adding an exclusive promo pack to orders for every $20 spent at their online Marketplace. The packs have now been shipped out and opened by some of the early purchasers, and a clearer picture is emerging. From the first 50 or so I’ve seen posted, it appears they consist of alternate art reprints of Native main set Pages in either reverse holo or full holo form. The images below are the best I could find of each Page revealed so far.

Jogah has been seeing lots of play since Native’s release for a number of reasons: it deals three times type advantage against Lightning and Dark, it is evasive with both Flying and Invisible Traits, and its Power lets you recover 60 to as much as 360 LP in exchange for removing one of your 4th Wall Items from the game.

Tupilaq may make an appearance at Dark Tower. It will likely have 80 LP with Nighttime Terra active, and its CONTRACT effect and Power could come in handy for removing your opponent’s Beasties. Since everyone will be playing Dark, it will be easier to anticipate what your opponent will have in their Spellbook, so this would be interesting to see for sure.

Crow Mother is another incredibly strong card, mainly for its ARENA effect, which allows any of your Spirit Beasties to target Beasties with Invisible, Spirit or that are currently burrowed.

Yehasuri has a sort of “infinite Trap” loop it can get in to, but only if your opponent targets it with an Attack. When it is Flipped in Combat, Combat immediately ends, and then if it is the target of an Attack, you can end Combat and Yehasuri face-down, presumably under one of your Beasties. It can also Destroy Aurafacts in one shot with its Attacks. This last part alone will likely mean Forest Tower, when it happens, will be an Aurafact free meta.

Nanook has lots of interesting elements, including: the Trap Trait and a FLIPPED condition that says Opposing Casters cannot Contract Spells until the end of your next turn; a DESTROYED effect that lets you recover 40 LP, and an Attack effect that seems designed to deal with Fearsome Critters or other Tribal Boost archetypes, as it nullifies LP gains on the Primary Defender. That said, I have not seen it show up in any Spellbooks as of yet.

It seems that a relatively small number of these packs have been opened so far. As such, I would consider this a complete set list at this point. However, it does seem like the following is clear: the Pages have rarity colours (bronze - common, silver - uncommon and gold - rare) and they appear to have been printed according to their rarity; all the Pages are printed with a special Marketplace logo with a 1 to signify these are the first wave of these promos; all the common and uncommon Pages appear to printed in reverse holo only and the rare Page in full holo only.
